I’m Christopher Zachar, an aerospace and software engineer and technology enthusiast for over 25 years. This is my personal website where I share my projects, thoughts, and experiences in the world of technology. This site is under constant development and I’m experimenting with new features, ideas and concepts.
I started my engineering career with NASA at Kennedy Space Center in Florida and served with NASA and the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. While at NASA, I had the privilege of learning from some of the best computer scientists in the engineering field and have applied and built upon that knowledge continuously throughout my career. In 2006, I was awarded the rare and prestigious NASA Space Flight Awareness Honoree Award for my contributions to the Space Shuttle and human spaceflight programs.
After my time at NASA, I transitioned to defense contracting for our military, government agencies and defense industry partners. I have contributed to a wide range of projects, from developing software for unmanned aerial vehicles and missile guidance to systems for space exploration.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Space Flight Awareness Honoree award is one of the highest presented to NASA and industry. To qualify, individuals must have contributed beyond normal requirements to achieve significant impact in attaining a particular human space flight program goal.
I’m currently working on a commercial business project, Scheduler Systems. The website is not expected to go live until September, 2026.
I have a DJI AVATA and DJI FPV. Piloting with the FPV goggles for both drones is amazing. You actually get the sensation of really flying.
